Is It Real or Is It Photoshop?

I’m sure some of you remember the commercial for Memorex audio tapes…The line was “Is it real, or is it Memorex”…The point being that the tape sounded the same as the real thing.

Well, the same goes for many photos that we see in the media nowadays. Are they real or have they been edited? I just received an email last week with the author in an uproar about the new coins that came out without the line “In God We Trust.” Well, a few emails later, I received the notice that this was a hoax…Not surprising. There is so much that can be done to edit a photo, that we all must look at these images with a cautious eye.

Skepticism is not the point of this post…The point is the amazing things that can be done with Photoshop to edit photos…Take a look at the globe photo. It combines two images…The orange and the globe…to convey a message.

Photo editing can tackle many tasks including adding someone to a photo, removing someone from a photo, editing a background, superimposing photos and yes, editing the text on a coin. If you have ideas you would like to communicate visually, contact your favorite graphic designer…That individual can help you get your message out to the world whether that world is orange or any other color!
